What I'm Packing
How do you pack for an extended period of time when everything you want to bring has to fit into a 55l bag that you have to carry on my back while also not going over the airline weight limit:
I’m not really sure but here’s what i’m going with—
*95% of what I’m bringing is going in packing cubes— a few things like towels and shoes are left loose in my pack
After my first round of packing my bag weighs 20lbs and i have a little bit of wiggle room on that because I have everything in my big pack and no clothing in my carry-on/day backpack.
Non-Clothing;
And the hardest part: clothing.
Here’s my clothing list-grouped together by packing cube:
Bottoms: If there was anywhere that I am overpacking it is this cube
1 pair of highwaisted cotton leggings
1 pair of exercise leggings
3 pairs of bike shorts
2 pairs of exercise shorts
2 pairs of denim shorts
1 pair of fabric shorts
1-2 pairs of jeans (these will be the first to be cut from the list, but packing to wear for work in Australia)
Tops:
3 camisoles
4 tank tops
5 T-shirts
2 pj tops
Dresses/Coverups
2 sundresses
2 beach coverups
1 romper
1 maxi skirt
Jackets: not in a packing cube
1 rain jacket
1 very light rain poncho
Bathing suits:
3 bikini tops
2 bikini bottoms
Underwear:
3 sports bras
2 bras
10 pairs of underwear
7 pairs of socks
Shoes: not in a packing cube—there is a pouch in the bottom of the Terra 55 backpack that is perfect for shoes- and plenty of loops on the outside of the bag to hang sneakers from.
1 pair of sneakers (sketchers)
1 pair of Teva sandals
1 pair of casual sandals
~undecided about bringing a pair of vans—will depend on space
1 Gaim microfiber yoga towel: quick drying
1 twisty turban hair towel
1 lightweight scarf: good to have in my daypack in case we go to any areas that we need to be covered for respect/religion reasons
Cutlery set: reusable fork/knife/spoon
Tech:
Iphone 6
Camera: Canon Powershot sx510: this camera has wifi built in so after downloading the canon app I can transfer pictures right to my phone without needing a laptop
Travel adapter: Castries Universal adapter- ordered from Amazon- it has one regular socket and then four usb slots so I will be able to charge my phone & powerbank together.
