The Plan

The Plan

The first big step was figuring out when we could head out for the first part of the trip. I am going to Ireland first to meet up with the rest of the group- because an 18 hour flight to Thailand on my own did not seem like a great time.

After figuring out that we wanted to leave ireland at the end of july— we needed to look into exactly which places were must-sees and the places we could keep for another time. A lot of this deciding came down to other people’s advice- friends and family who have done this kind of trip before- it also had to do with how long we could imagine ourselves living out of backpacks and hostels for

.The plan is to do four weeks traveling around Thailand and then onto Bali for two weeks. Heading to Sydney after that will be more of a final-feeling move just because we are going to be there for the longest and be slightly more established.

Friends’ advice on the best route to take and how long we should stay in places is super helpful because it’s hard to picture how long we would need in certain places just from reading other people’s blogs about areas. My main request was really to be able to go to an elephant sanctuary…after that i just want to be able to experience as much as possible.
